Executable specification
The test rig's own spec. An instrument that is quietly wrong is worse than no instrument, because every result taken with it is wrong in a way nobody is looking for.
The same assertions tools/run-js-tests.mjs runs in the Maven build, imported from boatsim-test.js rather than copied, so the page and the build cannot disagree.
